Most clientele, when they bring in a black and white image, have the idea that all we can really do with the design is put a black frame on it. There are a lot of different things we can do. Even adding a little color can do a lot for a design. In this case we opted for a grey frame as opposed to a black one. This lends to the mid- range tones, pulling our eye into the focal point. We still used a black top mat to create contrast between the high and low tones and then, finally, added a light grey bottom mat to tie everything together, creating a dynamic, cohesive design.
